Avtar Hari Singh Khalsa (aka Arthur Stephen Warshaw) passed away peacefully on July 15, 2021, at his home in Merida Yucatan, Mexico.
Avtar Hari was born in September 1945, in Philadelphia and was raised in Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1967 and his Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1971. Avtar Hari had a successful career as a television industry executive, and a real estate developer.
In 1986, after exploring a life of yoga and spiritual practice, Avtar Hari converted to Sikhism. He married Ravi Khalsa in 1988. They lived in Los Angeles until 1993 and then moved to New Mexico where he held various leadership and executive positions within the businesses and non profit organizations of the Sikh community.
They then spent two years in Portland, Oregon where he continued his business leadership consulting before retiring to the Yucatan Peninsula in June 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Ravi, his adoring sister, Lorraine Helen Warshaw of Camarillo, CA, and his sweet pup, Alfie.
